DDJF MUSIC THERAPY CLASS
Through the use of music therapy, our goal is to provide both guidance and a creative outlet to help affected youth navigate life’s toughest trials.
At the Dee Dee Jackson Foundation, we are dedicated to using music as a powerful tool for healing. Our Music Heals Therapy Program offers children who have experienced loss, trauma, or grief an outlet to express their emotions in a nurturing environment. Please enjoy this small glimpse into a transformative music therapy class led by licensed therapist Thomas Newbold, MM, MT-BC.

Our goal is to shine a light on the negative impact of grief, especially in children.
Consistent support helps children move through grief and build resiliency.
Without encouragement, children tend to stay silent or act out their pain in destructive ways. Music therapy can reconnect children in a comfortable way.
DDJF has taken a hands on approach to develop targeted music therapy programs.
This creative process allows children suffering loss an opportunity to process feelings of grief and explore their own emotions in a safe place.
Over 6 weeks, children and program staff-including a board certified music therapist-work collaboratively to teach the kids how to compose band record original songs as a tool to help cope with grief and loss.
